A presentation and discussion led by a local activist who recently studied in the Zapatista "caracol" of Oventik, Chiapas, as well as in the communities of groups involved in the "Other Campaign" (an international project for solidarity against capitalism and for autonomy initiated by the Zapatistas).
The talk will be on Zapatista autonomous organization, urban organizing examples and land take overs in the Other Campaign, and the human rights situation in Chiapas. The event will be helping to raise funds for a currently harassed Zapatista community in which the presenter has spent time recently as an international human rights observer.
