Debord made no concessions to the public, never sought reconciliation, shared no pleasing or beautiful images because the public does not deserve to be addressed: "This particular public, which has been so totally deprived of freedom and which has tolerated ever sought of abuse, deserves less than any other to be treated gently."
Contrarily, the film is a declaration of war. It is an autobiographical work of the Situationist who, alluding to the revolts of Paris 1968 and Italy 1977, offers his refusal of the existing order with an assault that is so total it is akin in passion to the lost child's first love.
Time never repeats itself and none has ever described so vividly the height of insurrection and abyss of loss, "we turn in the night, consumed by flame."
