4 July Mutiny presents: Work on Trial! The Resistance Gallery London

Resistance Gallery

265 Poyser Street

E2 9RF

Places: bethnal_green

Following the massive successes of Love on Trial and Violence on Trial, Mutiny are back with another explosive cocktail of debate and entertainment! This time we will be putting WORK ON TRIAL.

How do we win the fight against racism, sexism and anti-immigration attitudes in the workplace? Must our experience of work be one of exploitation and frustration? Is work the moral issue it's often made out to be, and if so what does this imply about those unable to participate? Can we imagine a better system for creating value and providing life's essentials? Could trade unions really be the driving force behind implementing a more utopian vision of work? What would *you* do, given a genuine choice as to how much to work and what on?

We have some incredible speakers, including renowned socialist feminist Selma James, founder of the International Wages for Housework Campaign and co-ordinator of Global Women's Strike; Sian Berry, former Green Party candidate for London Mayor; Nazek Ramadan from Migrant's Voice; James Meadway from the New Economics Foundation; Anne-Marie O'Reilly from Boycott Workfare; and Patrizia Kokot from the LSE Gender Institute. Plus there'll be plenty of entertainment - speed-debating, art, theatre, poetry, music, comedy - and most importantly, you! So come along and join in!

Tickets are £5, or currently buy-one-get-one-free from the website at www.jointhemutiny.org. All the pennies go to covering costs.
