Lucy Harrison is collecting song lyrics from residents of the 5 London Olympic host boroughs for a projection event in Hackney Wick in September 2011.
The project is a celebration of all the different styles of music that are listened to in East London. Local residents are invited to choose a line from one of their favourite songs that somehow resonates with them and says something about the local area and their hopes for the future.
Lucy will be collecting lyrics via the web but also through a series of social events in and around Hackney Wick, including ]performance s p a c e [
This project has been commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority and is supported by Arts Council England. It is inspired by one of the ODA’s art commissions “RUN” by Monica Bonvicini which will be installed inside the Olympic Park this Autumn.
