Anti-fascist gathering, Monday May 16th outside the City Hall of Athens

The movement “United against Racism and the Fascist Threat” is calling for an anti-fascist gathering outside the City Hall of Athens, on Athinas Str (two blocks south of Omonoia square). The group is largely considered a front for the SWP (the ISO-equivalent in the US). Given the seriousness of the situation, this matters little – and it has become evident that many anarchists, whether individually or in groups, will attend the gathering.

An hour later, at 3pm, the neo-nazis of the Golden Dawn have called for a gathering outside the City Hall. The pretext for the gathering is the meeting of the City Council (in which both the nazis and SEK, the Greek SWP equivalent, have an elected member).
