Punx Picnic benefit cancelled
it is with great sadness that the Picnic Collective and the landlord of the venue have to announce that the gigs at Mannions next Friday and Sunday are to be cancelled.the rioting at the weekend was right outside the pub and although the pub was untouched Tottenham remains very volatile and could go up again at any time.we have to think of the safety of people going to the gigs and also the pub.it is after all Micks livelihood and even the remotest chance of bringing any heat down on him (from either the scumbag rioters or the scumbag police) is too much.this is not the 1980’s. these riots are not the same as in the 1980’s. Todays punk scene is not the same. it may seem very romantic to some to have the gigs go on in a possible warzone but this is someone’s livelihood, someone’s home and our friends and comrades safety we are talking about.maybe the weekend in Tottenham will go smoothly and be trouble free but its not a risk any of us felt comfortable taking.
Saturdays gig and the picnic are still on…
the biggest losers in all this are JJ and the 7 antifa prisoners we were trying to support by putting on the picnic in the first place.if you can spare a few quid buy the benefit CD for them.link here…
