Un documentaire réalisé à travers la France en 2010-2011.

Une trentaine de jeunes, pour la plupart mineurs, réagissent aux déclarations médiatiques, politiques et scientifiques portés à leur encontre. Leurs témoignages - comme la musique qui les accompagne - dressent un état des lieux de la situation au fil des parcours et des quotidiens…

Il est plus difficile d’aller à la rencontre de l’autre que de récupérer des discours, conçus pour être recracher à qui voudra bien les diffuser.
La parole est fragile, sensible, farouche, si peu habituée à ce qu’on la prenne en compte.

Loin des experts froids et rigides, qui, même s’ils ne reprennent pas totalement la doctrine officielle, légitime tout de même la pensée dominante en répondant à ses codes et ses normes : culture de l’écrit, appui sur la science, argumentaire en chiffre…

Peut-on invalider un propos sans en déconstruire ses fondations ?

Ici, pas de voix qui surplombe et instrumentalise en réduisant les arguments à des exemples. Ras le cul de ces analystes dont le rôle est d’observer et dans un souci de neutralité de ne surtout jamais participer. L’objectivité est illusion.

Guerre des mots où expériences et théorie s’affrontent.

La Historia de Move, ” 35 años en movimiento”.


El colectivo de traductorxs y editorxs “La Cizalla Ácrata” y tierraverde ediciones presenta un nuevo trabajo audiovisual en formato DVD. Se trata del primer documental subtitulado al castellano del que se tiene constancia sobre la historia de la organización norteamericana “MOVE” que desarrolló una intensa actividad política durante gran parte de la década de los 70 y los 80, principalmente en la ciudad de Philadelphia.

La organización MOVE hizo su primera aparición en Philadelphia(USA) a principios de los años 70. Sus miembros se caracterizaban por sus largos dreadlocks(rastas) y por el apellido “África”, adoptado en honor a su fundador John África, así como por la unidad como principio y un firme compromiso con sus creencias. El documental repasa los acontecimientos más significativos durante la década de los 70 y los 80 cuando los MOVE fueron objeto de una brutal represión que consiguió asesinar y encarcelar a la mayoría de sus miembros, 8 de lxs cuales continúan hoy en día encarcelados.

Hoy en día nueve integrantes de MOVE continúan encarcelados y el resto de miembros que están en la calle continúan luchando por su libertad así como por la libertad de su compañero y simpatizante Mumia Abu jamal.

On January 1, 1994, the day the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) took effect, the Zapatista National Liberation Army, made up of impoverished Mayan Indians from the state of Chiapas, took over five towns and 500 ranches in southern Mexico. The Government deployed its troops, and at least 145 people died in the ensuing battle. Fighting for indigenous Mexicans to regain control over their lives and the land, the Zapatista Army, led by the charismatic, guerrilla poet Subcommandante Marcos, started sending their message to the world via the Internet. The result was what The New York Times called “the world's first post-modern revolution.” Filmmaker Nettie Wild travelled to the jungle canyons of southern Mexico to film the elusive and fragile life of the uprising. Her camera effectively and movingly captures the human dimensions behind this war of symbols.

RUDE BOY by The Clash

Rude Boy takes a look at the UK of 1980 through the eyes of Ray Gange, a punk music fan who leaves his dead end job by landing work as a roadie for his favorite band, the Clash. Part character study, part "rockumentary," part concert film, Rude Boy paints a dark mood of disillusionment at a time of economic decline in Britain, intertwining concert footage with clips from political demonstrations, protests and newsreels. It is a telling portrait of the country's turbulent times with its youth of the day. At the center of it all, however, is the most stunning, furiously alive footage of the Clash that has ever been recorded.

In the late 1960s, a few free thinkers cobbled together donations, primarily from Hollywood, to buy 80 acres at the end of a dirt road in Siskiyou County, California: Big Bear Ranch, a commune with the motto "free land for free people." Archival footage, photographs, documents and news articles, and interviews with people who lived or still live there tell the commune's history: the cold first winter, women and men doing the same work, communal decision making, emerging environmental politics, free love and family formation, child rearing and memories of growing up there, a late 70's crisis with a cult-like group that moved in, and assessment by those grown old of what Big Bear meant.

THE CYBERPUNK EDUCATOR

This is the independent creation of a group of filmmakers going by the name Cyberpunk Films. This film is composed of clips from various 80's and early 90's cyberpunk films, as well as pictures and diagrams, with a synthetic voice over dissecting the way that cyberpunk movies portray the world around us. Aside from being a nice nostalgia trip through those movies I haven't watched in awhile, this film makes some interesting observations. Sometimes it strains a little too far out in some inferences and comparisons, however in general it makes valid points. Interestingly, it often brings in some biblical comparison's, between the heavenly and the hellish and the way they are depicted in this genre of science fiction. I was irked initially by the biblical comparisons, but found it to give this film a different perspective. Production-wise, this film feels much like some of the instructional films I used to watch in middle-school (not entirely sure if that was intentional), however, having the title 'The Cyberpunk Educator' certainly does set that tone. Stop reading this and just check it out yourself if you are interested. Although it doesn't get to the roots of cyberpunk limiting this information a bit, I still think it was a good watch.

D.I.Y. OR DIE: Burn This DVD (DVD) This documentary by Michael W. Dean isn't a manual on how to publish a fanzine or start a band. Rather, it's a look into the very souls of a group of talented and dedicated individuals who have chosen to live as artists, on their own terms and outside the mainstream. Call it the Zen of DIY, if you will; but by any name, it's a wonderfully revealing look into a truly alternative lifestyle as embraced by not only musicians but poets, artists, writers, and photographers. For that reason, there's no one on this DVD who would qualify as "famous" by the standards of People magazine or MTV. Anyone familiar with the world of underground music, though, will recognize such articulate and well-traveled spokepersons as Ian MacKaye of Fugazi, Lydia Lunch, Mike Watt, J Mascis, Jim "Foetus" Thirlwell, circus performer Jim Rose, and photographer/filmmaker Richard Kern. The original title of the documentary, when released on video, was "D.I.Y. Or Die: How To Survive As An Independent Artist," which sums it up perfectly. With the exception of one short passage on Napster, the material hasn't become dated at all; in fact, you'll find the wisdom and insight served up here to be timeless. SYNOPSIS:
Heavy Metal in Baghdad is a feature film documentary that follows the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to the present day. Playing heavy metal in a Muslim country has always been a difficult (if not impossible) proposition but after Saddam’s regime was toppled, there was a brief moment for the band in which real freedom seemed possible. That hope was quickly dashed as their country fell into a bloody insurgency. From 2003-2006, Iraq disintegrated around them while Acrassicauda struggled to stay together and stay alive, always refusing to let their heavy metal dreams die. Their story echoes the unspoken hopes of an entire generation of young Iraqis.

RASH the documentary film completed in 2005 is a contemporary story of modern urban Australia and the artists who are making it a living host for illegal artwork called street art. RASH the documentary film explores the cultural value of unsanctioned public art and the ways that street art and graffiti contribute to public dialogue.

This story conveys the commitment, ideals and beliefs demonstrated in this thriving alternative art practice. These artists utilize a variety of approaches including bill posters (paste ups), stencil art, stickers, installations and performance, broadcasting their under represented views that bang away at the community conscience by sticking this artwork right in the public eye.

With the approaching Commonwealth Games in 2006 local councils have a juggling act on their hands to present a clean and safe city for visitors. This is art and it belongs! Directed by Nicholas Hansen and Mutiny Media, the feature documentary RASH – was three years in the making and includes interviews with some of Melbourne’s most inspiring street art and graffiti artists as well as visitors who come to Melbourne and leave their mark.

La Historia de Move, ” 35 años en movimiento”.

El colectivo de traductorxs y editorxs “La Cizalla Ácrata” y tierraverde ediciones presenta un nuevo trabajo audiovisual en formato DVD. Se trata del primer documental subtitulado al castellano del que se tiene constancia sobre la historia de la organización norteamericana “MOVE” que desarrolló una intensa actividad política durante gran parte de la década de los 70 y los 80, principalmente en la ciudad de Philadelphia.

La organización MOVE hizo su primera aparición en Philadelphia(USA) a principios de los años 70. Sus miembros se caracterizaban por sus largos dreadlocks(rastas) y por el apellido “África”, adoptado en honor a su fundador John África, así como por la unidad como principio y un firme compromiso con sus creencias. El documental repasa los acontecimientos más significativos durante la década de los 70 y los 80 cuando los MOVE fueron objeto de una brutal represión que consiguió asesinar y encarcelar a la mayoría de sus miembros, 8 de lxs cuales continúan hoy en día encarcelados.

Hoy en día nueve integrantes de MOVE continúan encarcelados y el resto de miembros que están en la calle continúan luchando por su libertad así como por la libertad de su compañero y simpatizante Mumia Abu jamal.
