Alors pour résumer, le fest se déplace parce qu’il nous était dur voir presque impossible de le faire sur Liège, les divergences de point de vue politique et les freins imposés par La Zone nous obligeant a trouver un autre endroit (il y aura peut être un texte a ce sujet plus tard).

28 December: Gevangenen schrijfavond

ABC-Nijmegen organiseert woensdag 28 december wederom een schrijfavond voor gevangenen. Tijdens deze schrijfavond zal het weer mogelijk zijn om een aantal gevangenen een kaartje brief of tekening te sturen. Tijdens deze avond zullen wij ons richten op een aantal (politieke) gevangenen uit Chili. Daarnaast zullen wij informatie geven over het ‘hoe en waarom’ te schrijven aan politieke gevangenen.

Tijdens deze avond zullen we ook de documentaire The Chicago Conspiracy vertonen. Deze documentaire geeft een introductie in de geschiedenis van de militaire dictatuur en de huidige sociale conflicten in Chili. Kameraden van de Anarchistische Groep Amsterdam hebben deze ook recentelijk vertoont en een samenvatting ervan op hun website gezet.

If so, please join us this upcoming Monday, December 5th at 6 pm for a Noise Demo at Metro West Detention Centre to hoot and holler and make some noise and send some love to our buds who are locked up there!

Meet up is the parking lot by Carlingview Dr. And Disco Rd. Please be there at 5:45 pm, and we’ll head out to the prison from there. Bring: banners, flags, noisemakers, flashlights, candles, and buds.

Bristol Anarchist Black Cross and Bristol Defendant Solidarity are proud to present Charlie Ryder’s new film Prison? Following the 80 minute film there will be a Q&A with discussion.

In October 1993 Charlie Ryder took part in a demonstration to shut down the
BNP headquarters in Welling, south-east London. This developed into a
serious riot, and a few months later he was featured on the TV show Crime
Monthly. He was arrested the next morning, then he waited nearly 2 years before he was sent to prison for 16 months.

Charlie has now developed his story into a feature film using shadow
puppetry, marionette puppets, rod puppets, masks, visual art, poetry and
dance to shine a light on his time inside. Charlie hopes that by painting a picture of his experience it will educate people and challenge perceptions of prison and prisoners.

Additional background info:
While in prison Charlie received a letter of support from a British Holocaust
survivor Leon Greenman who had also protested to shut down the BNP
headquarters. Charlie kept this letter in a scrapbook with poetry and
artwork he collected to record his time inside.

On his release from prison he developed the scrapbook into a one man play
which was critically acclaimed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Aug 2007 and
then performed in prisons universities and conferences.

“Charlie puts his heart and soul on screen and clearly has a point to make.
Prison is portrayed here as the antithesis to tabloid journalism’s
assertion that it is the equivalent of a holiday camp. A television or a
games console is not a worthy substitute for liberty. I certainly will not

12 november-Benefit For Antifascist Prisoners In Leeds uk

A benefit for the six imprisoned UK antifascist prisoners on Saturday 12th November.

This month’s Moonstomp, the definitive West Yorkshire Ska & Reggae night, is a benefit for the six UK antifascist prisoners. With your favourite DJ’s playing Jamaican Ska, 2-Tone, 60’s & 70’s Reggae, 80’s R&B, Northern Soul, Motown, and more, Moonstomp/Absolute Beginners is always a great night. This Saturday’s event also features Manchester’s finest Ska infused band The Minx. Come along, have a great night, and help us raise some cash for six great lads banged-up for fighting fascism.
Saturday 12th November at TJ’s, Woodhouse Street, Leeds 6 (close to Hyde Park Corner), 9pm until Late. Only £5.

THE PRISONERS

Sean Cregan, Ravi Gill, Thomas Blak, Phil De Souza, Andy Baker, and Austen Jackson are antifascists who were fitted up earlier this year on conspiracy charges and sentenced to between 15 and 21 months in jail. They were originally held in Wormwood Scrubs prison in London, but have all now been split-up and moved to separate jails in southern and central England. Thomas is Danish and despite having lived and worked in this country for 15 years, he is also facing the extra punishment of being deported. Austen has been denied early release on electronic tag and it is clear that having failed to fit-up the other 13 antifascists involved in the same case, the State are determined to punish the six they did manage to fit-up to the maximum extent.

Discussion meeting: An Introduction To Prisoner Support Work

On Sunday 6 November, 4.30pm sharp to 6pm, in the Events Room, at Kebele social Centre, 14 Robertson Road, Bristol BS5 6JY.
There will be two short introductions:
Firstly about the importance of prisoner support work.
Secondly we will look at what exactly ABC groups in the UK do these days, and what else they could be doing.
This will be an informal meeting, with plenty of time for questions and discussion, and we hope you will help us generate more ideas about what we can do, and how we can do it together.

After the meeting we hope you will stay on for the Kebele cafe, and join us from 6.30 to 8pm, upstairs in the art room, in sending cards and letters to prisoners in the UK and abroad who welcome support.

Why?
The support and solidarity work of the ABC network in the UK, and other similar groups, is sorely limited by the small numbers of people involved, and indeed by their other committments. We think this needs to improve, and we welcome the slowly growing interest and activity around the UK in this work – for example by the excellent Bristol Defendant Solidarity group and similar groups starting up over the last year; by the understanding that legal support on protests and defendant support afterwards needs to continue into prisoner support; and most recently by the surge of support for 6 imprisoned anti-fascists.

However much more needs to be done to ensure support and solidarity for our friends and comrades who are increasingly going to court, and prison, as a result of participation in political activities and protests. Prison is very much a tool used by the state to control and scare us, our people need to know that if they are sent to prison they will not be forgotten. The last year has seen an increase in social conflict in the workplace and on the streets. The rich and powerful are waging a social war against all of us to take back what our movements have won over the last 150 years, and to ensure our compliance in a system designed purely for their benefit. Our movements are a part of a growing resistance in this war. The recent struggles by youth and students, the growing anger of those in and out of work, and the certainty that these battles will intensify in the next few years, mean that greater numbers of us face arrest, courts, and prison. Prisons themselves represent this social war in its sharpest terms, and have always been a location of struggle. As they continue to fill up with prisoners of the social conflicts outside, those struggles will intensify.

As a movement, or movements, we need to be better prepared for those comrades who are sent to prison. We appreciate many of you are already quite busy, but we need your help and think this is something that deserves some more attention than is currently the case. If you are interested, want to know more, and can maybe dedicate a little time to this work, then we hope you can come along on the 6 November.

As problematic as the language of “occupation” is in a nation that continues to occupy stolen land, a movement is spreading. From Rome to Oakland, comrades are making it clear that unless there is conflict with the state and capital, the so-called occupations are merely camp-outs. And on the ground, it is clear that folks are willing to physically defend the spaces they have built together. There is a lot to be inspired by and plenty of reason to become directly involved. It is in the spirit of direct involvement (and the magick of Halloween) that we host another Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner. And what could be more ghoulish than the Green Scare?

Since the early 1980s, public relations hacks have been working to reify the term “eco-terrorism.” By 2004, they became successful and a phrase that a decade earlier had no real meaning was now defined by the United States government and used to introduce legislation. Now we have comrades serving decades for economic sabotage and allegations of thought crime. With two folks recently arrested and Walter Bond sentenced to another seven year, it is clear that Earth and animal liberationists are both still active and still in the crosshairs of the feds. Join us in letting them know they are not forgotten.

The deal, as always, is that you come bringing only yourself (and your friends and comrades), and we provide you with a delicious vegan meal, information about the prisoners as well as all of the letter-writing materials and prisoner-letter-writing info you could ever want to use in one evening. In return, you write a thoughtful letter to a political prisoner or prisoner of war of your choosing or, better yet, keep up a long-term correspondence. We’ll also provide some brief updates and pass around birthday cards for the PP/POWs whose birthdays fall in the next two weeks thanks to the Anarchist Birthday Brigade.

Anarchist hip hop gig in Leeds – benefit for antifascist prisoners

This Thursday, 20th October, Santiagos in the Grand Arcade in Leeds hosts the sounds of inspirational and empowering Canadian anarchist hip hop duo, Test Their Logik.

Plus special guests – Moonstomp DJs.

The night is a joint benefit for West Yorkshire Solidarity Federation and imprisoned antifascists so come along for a great night of music and solidarity. 28/09 A.K. Gent I.S.M. A.B.C. Amsterdam presenteert: “TEST THEIR LOGIK”

“Test their logik” is een Canadeese anarchistische hiphop groep die op 28 september langskomt in het anarchistisch centrum te Gent. We willen met hen die avond even dieper ingaan op de situatie rond de afgelopen G20 top in Canada en de protesten die hier tegen plaatsvonden. Ook de huidige situatie rond de gevangenisstrijd en het anarchisme in het algemeen in Canada zullen aan bod komen. Na de info en discussie zullen ze een akoestische set brengen, gevolgd door hiphop plaatjes en solibar…
